When it comes to Honda’s new CB1100, a lot of people seem to be missing the point. Honda didn’t built it to be a sports bike, they have their own CBR1000RR for riders who enjoy looking like power rangers. It wasn’t even designed to imitate the original super bike, the 1969 CB750. If you look closely enough, it’s more a celebration of all things Honda CB. Exposed engine, in all it’s naked glory. Twin gauges, twin shocks. It’s a design that will age gracefully, not look dated within a few years. If anything, there’s a lot of CBX1000 (as seen above) in the CB1100. The shape of the tank where it meets the seat is the most obvious but there’s also the exhaust muffler. The designers seem to have taken a lot from Honda’s own heritage in the new CB1100.
